Some Movies Just Weren’t Meant to Be PG-13
Some movies work perfectly with a PG-13 rating, but others feel like they are constantly fighting against it.
In this episode of A.J. Chat, we look at movies that probably should have accepted the R rating and fully embraced their material. From Venom and Alien vs. Predator to The Meg, Terminator Salvation, and Mortal Kombat, these films had characters, franchises, and concepts that naturally seemed built for something darker.
An R rating would not automatically have made these movies better, but playing it safe sometimes meant holding back exactly what made the material interesting in the first place.
