The Scary Movie franchise built its reputation by parodying everything. Horror movies, blockbuster hits, celebrities, and pop culture were all fair game, and the best entries balanced outrageous humor with a story that held the chaos together.

So... does Scary Movie (2026) bring that magic back?

In this episode of A.J. Chat, I share my thoughts on the franchise's latest return, discussing the nostalgia, the returning cast, the heavy reliance on callbacks, and why so many of the jokes simply didn't land for me. While there are a few entertaining moments and familiar faces longtime fans will appreciate, I felt the movie leaned too heavily on references without delivering enough memorable comedy.

As always, this is just my opinion. Comedy is incredibly subjective, and your experience may be completely different. But for me, this comeback never fully captured the creativity, energy, or rapid-fire parody that made the original Scary Movie films so much fun.
